Starokostiantyniv Air Base Fire Station:
“Every contribution is a step towards strengthening our country's defense capabilities.”
The 7th Brigade of Tactical Aviation at Starokostiantyniv air base are planning a full reconstruction of their fire station, following its destruction in a missile strike. This new building is designed fit for purpose to withstand ongoing assaults, to rescue & respond to attacks in the city, and to defend the assets and people of the 7th Tactical Aviation Brigade which are essential to Ukraine’s ability to defend itself.
The city of Starokostiantyniv in Khmelnytska oblast is home to the 7th Brigade of Tactical Aviation and is a important military air base in Ukraine, which ensures the fulfilment of many tasks in the defence of Ukraine in the war with the Russian Federation.
Consequently, since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Starokostiantyniv has been under constant rocket, ballistic and hypersonic missile- and Shahed-type drone attacks. As a result, there has been damage to a large number of civilian homes and infrastructure, as well as direct targeting of multiple strategic objects on the airbase which are essential for the defence of Ukraine.
One of the most devastating attacks was suffered by the fire station of the 7th Brigade of Tactical Aviation, resulting in subsequent ongoing delayed and severely limited response capacity to the impacts and damage from the ongoing attacks.
Restoring a timely fire and rescue response to limit damage suffered from air attacks, directly impacts the ability of the 7th Tactical Brigade to effectively defend Ukraine and its civilian population, and to ensure peace in Europe.
A new depot, fit-for-purpose and able to withstand ongoing assaults, has been designed and is ready to start construction. The design meets all technical specifications, modern construction regulations and technologies.
Flashlight is raising money and essential equipment to bring this design to life, so that the 7th Tactical Brigade can respond to the relentless attacks, to defend its people and assets, and the people of Ukraine.
