We are working to support and empower some of these families in their situation to become part of our communities.
We work with existing empty homes in rural communities to create safe, warm, dry and sustainable homes for families in need to have the best possible start in building their new lives. We work with homes in villages and communities that have access to essential social infrastructure, such as healthcare, schools, transportation, and jobs, and that actively welcome and are welcoming to new members of their community.
To achieve this, we strive - in close partnership with local authorities - to support people with a “full package” that can include not only a roof over their heads, but everything they may need to live sustainably and independently, including:
If you want to get involved in this project, here are some ways you can contribute or help:
- Volunteer your time and skills to help with repairs
- Give away or pay for building materials for necessary repairs
- Donate unused (but in good working condition) needed equipment or furniture
- Offer a job or training
- Donate unused gardening tools
If you are a displaced family in need of housing support, we can help. Please contact us using the information provided on our contact page and we will be happy to discuss your needs with you and see if we can help, or how we can support you to get other assistance.
